The customer was having trouble moving the right hand slide. We found the oiler to be damaged and not functioning correctly. We performed repairs to the way surfaces as well as the oil pump.

Sometime machine work has to be performed in the most unlikely locations. We used our portable mill to remove some unneeded material from a pocket located on the upper floor of this section of construction.

We had to remove, clean and repair the way surface on the this rotary table for a Stanko horizontal boring mill. We cleaned out all of the oil lines and lubricating pump before reinstalling.

We had to remove this drive shaft from a Bliss Punch Press and rebuild the clutch mechanism.

The customer had a problem with the table on his surface grinder trying to stick while in slow feed. After removing the table we found the cast iron way surfaces to be slick due to wear and lack of lubrication. We scraped the way surfaces and added back the oil flaking to help provide oil retention. We flushed out the oil lines to allow for correct lubrication flow. The pictures show the finished product before reinstalling.

The customer has a very large Russian Bear lathe. With its 12’ diameter chuck it can accommodate parts larger than most can imagine. However, no matter the size, all machines can have breakdowns. As you can see from the pictures, the spindle bearings failed, and the machine had to come apart. We removed the head and replaced the bearings. After reinstalling the head we set the bearings to the correct tolerance.

The customer has a two wheel head OD grinder. The cast iron wheel slide bases were badly cracked. We removed them and repaired with metal stitching. The attached pictures show the process. We were able to bring these parts back to a condition where they a safe and fully functional.
